ACCS/Info Bulletin 16/10

Re: FETAC Examination Appeals

FETAC has informed us that it is no longer in a position to process appeals from students on the results of their examinations.  In the VEC sector there is an agreement that City of Dublin VEC and Cork VEC will process such appeals on behalf of all the VEC’s in the country.  In the Community and Comprehensive sector we have historically had very few appeals, numbering 5 in total for the school year 2008/09, for example.  In the present industrial climate it would most likely prove very difficult to process these appeals at school level.

ACCS has made contact with both City of Dublin VEC and Cork VEC and they have both agreed to process any FETAC appeals arising in our schools.  Schools who have a requirement to process such appeals should contact the relevant Education Officers in either Dublin or Cork, Mr. Evan Buckley in Dublin and Mr. John Fitzgibbon in Cork.

If you have any queries or require further clarification please contact ACCS Head Office.

le mór mheas,
