Procurement:

ACCS has been in discussion with the DES with a view to cooperating with the National Procurement Service in respect of procurement of goods and services for ACCS schools.  There are many challenges in procurement for our 93 schools, particularly where schools have developed a good relationship with local suppliers.  For some services PPP schools cannot be included where the service is supplied by the management consortium.  In addition each school is a stand-alone legal entity and each would have to volunteer to come into such an arrangement. However, in some service areas this is less contentious.  We hope to co-operate with the NPS as they arrange a tender for electricity sometime in May.  Schools wishing to be considered within such a tender will need to supply information to ACCS so that they can be included.   We would expect that substantial savings could be made in this area.

Schools interested should inform us of their willingness to partake by supplying the following:

1.    Address of school

2.    MPRN number

3.    Current supplier

4.    Billing address

We will forward details from all participating schools to the NPS through the DES on April 30th 2012.
