ACCS Convention 2019

Message to Delegates:

ACCS welcomes you all to the Slieve Russell Hotel Golf and Country Club, Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan.

This year our Convention opens on Wednesday 27th March at 3:45 p.m. and concludes on Friday 29th March at 12.30 p.m. Please see attached final agenda.

The Real David Cameron is our keynote speaker on Wednesday the 27th March and will address delegates on “Navigating the Landscape and not just dancing in the dark”.

On Thursday the 28th March we will have inputs from Brian Mac Giolla Phádraig, Divisional Inspector, DES on the “Child Protection and Safeguarding Inspection Model” and Ms. Maria Lorigan, Senior Inspector, DES on “Evaluation of Provision for Students with Additional and Special Educational Needs in Post Primary Schools”. This will be followed by a Panel Discussion on ‘Promoting Creativity and Engagement in Schools’ with The Real David Cameron, Ms. Frances Neary, Principal, Trinity Comprehensive School, Ms. Fiona Gallagher, Deputy Principal, Trinity Comprehensive School and Mr. Barry Peak, Learning and Practice Officer, Young Social Innovators.

The Minister for Education and Skills, Mr. Joe McHugh T.D. will be in attendance on Thursday the 28th March. Our President, Mr. Paul Fiorentini will address delegates at 4.15 p.m. on the Thursday, 28th March, 2019.

Mr. Luke O’Neill, Professor of Biochemistry in the School of Biochemistry and Immunology at Trinity College Dublin is our keynote speaker on Friday 29th March, 2019. He will be discussing “Humanology: a Scientist’s Guide to our Amazing Existence”.

Slieve Russell Hotel Golf and Country Club Cancellation policy:

Bedrooms cancelled 48 hours prior to arrival date or no shows on the day will be subject to full B & B charges for nights booked. These charges will be deducted from the credit card provided on the accommodation booking form.

Non-Resident Delegates: Please see attached Non-Resident Meals Package Form for completion and return to ACCS if required.

The ACCS Convention Handbook will be available at close of business on Tuesday 26th March, 2019 to view or download from the ACCS website www.accs.ie. Wi-Fi is available in the hotel.
