We Need Teachers - Examiner Recruitment 2018

The State Examinations Commission needs teachers, including recently qualified and retired teachers, to apply to mark the 2018 Leaving Certificate and Junior Certificate examinations. The SEC is also accepting applications for superintending positions in the Greater Dublin area. Full details of this appeal are available on the SEC’s website here

The main source of advertising for this extended recruitment drive is through, on the SEC website and through direct contact with schools with an e-mail due to issue to all schools.

Teachers engaging in examinations marking are the lifeblood of the examinations system. ACCS encourages Principals to make a direct appeal to teachers in their schools to apply to mark the written examinations. This could be done, for example, by the principal making an announcement in the staff room with an encouragement to their teachers, including new and more recently qualified teachers, to apply in order to benefit their teaching practice and their experience of national assessment.
