This year’s In-School Management (ISM) Conference, sponsored by Compass, will take place on the 20th and 21st of November in the Farnham Estate Spa and Golf Resort in Cavan.

The ISM Conference is an important social event for Principals and Deputy Principals to network and build relationships with colleagues. This event also provides a valuable opportunity for relevant and targeted in-service for senior leaders in our schools. The Programme for the event is organised by the ACCS ISM Task Group.

The theme for this year’s conference is “School Leaders: Navigating Change with Professionalism”

Guest Speaker

Our guest speaker on Friday morning is Bernard Jackman. During a highly successful rugby Career, Bernard played for Sale, Connacht and Leinster, winning the Magners League and Champions Cup with the latter and the Challenge Cup with Sale. He also played for Ireland and was part of the squad that won the Grand Slam in 2009

After retiring from playing, Bernard went into coaching and has been a head coach in the Top14, with Grenoble, and the United Rugby Championship with The Dragons. In 2022 Bernard went full time into his current career where he works as a consultant with Leaders and teams from some of the biggest and best-known companies in the world on how they can create a High Performance Culture and achieve consistent and sustainable success. He has also established a career in the media as a rugby pundit with a weekly column in the Sunday Independent, Podcasts with RTE and the 42 along with being a regular contributor on RTE’s TV and Radio rugby coverage.
