ACCS Strategic Plan 2026 - 2030

ACCS enters the 2026–2030 planning period recognising the need for a strategic approach that is flexible and innovative enough to respond to rapid change in education at national and global levels.

The organisation has built on the strong progress made under the 2021–2025 Strategic Plan, which strengthened governance, enhanced ACCS’s role in shaping Irish education, supported organisational development, and promoted the Community & Comprehensive sector as a distinctive and valuable model.

Looking ahead, ACCS will continue to ground its work in the real needs of member schools while pursuing the strategic goals shaped through extensive stakeholder consultation. By collaborating closely with education partners, ACCS will advocate for essential supports in resources, professional learning, policy development, research, and communication.

As a recognised national management body, ACCS aims to contribute meaningfully to wider societal challenges and to the National Conversation on Education, reaffirming the enduring relevance of the C&C sector’s founding vision—schools rooted in their communities, serving diverse student populations, and upholding the rights of students and families in a multi‑denominational setting.

At the ACCS Convention, held in Killarney in March 2026 a presentation on the strategies and objectives of the new strategic plan was made by Assistant General Secretary, Paul Thornton. That presentation is available to download here

The Assistant General Secretary invited queries and comments from the floor through a Microsoft Form. If you wish to add to these comments, you may do so here, until the 27th of March, 2026
