Dear Secretary,

Please find attached ACCS/Info Bulletin 26/26 Re: Industrial Action Update and Guidance.

Industrial action creates a serious challenge for Boards of Management and school communities. ACCS urges that every effort is made to ensure the continuation of positive working relationships in the school community during and in the aftermath of industrial action.

This bulletin sets out guidance for boards of management on the proposed industrial action by Fórsa and ASTI. The TUI has indicated that following the count of its ballot on the public service agreement on Friday 2nd October, it will issue guidance to its members with possible industrial action and/or strike action to commence on 12th October 2026. ACCS will update advice following the outcome of the TUI ballot. In dual union schools, as many of the C&C schools are, it is advisable to carefully consider the impact of maintaining any scheduled whole staff events over the coming week given that some staff will be prohibited from attending due to the commenced industrial action. Where some staff are unable to attend, the event can no longer be regarded as whole staff.
